Arts & Crafts picture frame for American impressionist painting. By 20th c. Frame maker Ben Badura (1907-1986). Badura is one of Bucks County's premier frame maker. he studied under Frederick Harer. His frames adorn paintings by all of the finest Bucks County artists including Edward Redfield, Fern Coppedge, Walter Baum, John Folinsbee and more. Hand carved wood with incised carved corners and gold gilt. Signed on reverse B. Badura, New Hope PA. Inside measurements 24 1/2" x 24 1/2". Moulding 2 1/2" wide by 2" depth. Inside rabbet 1/2" creating visible sight from front 23 1/2" x 23 1/2". Rabbet depth from back 1 1/4" to accommodate painting. Structurally strong.
